What Manner of a Person are You?

For a very long time now,you have been searching for a life partner or for a stable relationship. Yet nothing good has come out of your search. They tell you someone somewhere is responsible and you accept. You begin to move from one prayer house and mountain to another. You even fast and pray longer than Jesus Christ even did it. Unfortunately, you have never engaged in an examination of conscience or what psychologists refer to as 'introspection' to find out who is truly responsible. Take a journey into your mind and search your soul. You may be shocked to discover that you have been the only enemy that has kept you from finding the right person.
You want a God-fearing man or woman but you have no fear of God in you!
You do not want a stingy man or woman but you are not generous!
You want a humble partner but you are full of pride! You cannot even greet when you pass people on the road or in your neighbourhood.
You want a partner who can treat you right but you treat others like pieces of shit! They mean nothing to you.
You cannot suffer with any man or woman to build a future but your parents suffered together to make you who you are!
You cannot date or marry a man or woman who is not working yet but you have no job of your own!
You want a man with a car to drive you round town but you have no bicycle!
You want a man or woman who has already built his or her personal house but you do not have a hut of your own!
You want to eat expensive meals in an expensive restaurant funded by his or her money but you eat cassava flakes or 'eba' whenever you are in your house!
You want a man or woman who can take and love you as you are but you are not prepared to accept that man or woman as he or she is!
You cannot marry someone from a poor background but your parents are poor!
You want a partner who can die for you but you cannot sacrifice anything for another person.
Why then ask why? What manner of a person are you?
