Against Skin Bleaching

By Ogiri John Ogiri.

One of the most disgusting sights I've ever seen and still see today is a lady with a bleached skin. To know that some guys are equally involved in skin bleaching makes the whole thing more complicated and worrisome. Complicated because I find it difficult to fathom why a guy will choose to destroy his original skin colour for something inferior to his natural possession than maintain it. It is worrisome because many people are now suffering from skin cancer as a result of skin bleaching.
The truth is whoever told you that you must look like the white man or white woman in order to look attractive only exploited your lack of self-esteem and self-confidence for his or her business interest. Of course, only people with low self-confidence and self-esteem can easily be attracted to skin bleaching.
Here is the thing. As long as you weren't born white, you can never become a white man or woman. Skin bleaching can only temporarily help you look like the whites but that doesn't suddenly make you white in your genetic composition. Rather, you're reduced to less than the original of who you're supposed to be.
I make bold to say that, one of the most unique skin pigmentations we got from nature as Africans is the black skin pigmentation. Experiential evidences, so far, have ,at least, shown that, the black skin is naturally built to withstand pressure, extreme climatic conditions, stress and physical challenges. This is why you can survive where the white man or woman cannot in the absence of technology. The black skin is more original and unique. So, if you aren't a black man or woman, you can't have it. Unfortunately, it isn't something that can easily be purchased from shelves in the supermarkets. You either have it or you don't.
But you see the white skin pigmentation that you're dying to have or preserve, it can be purchased from the supermarket. Whatever you can buy from the market is no longer unique. That makes the white skin pigmentation less original than the black skin pigmentation.
Ladies, guys, appreciate your creator by appreciating your black skin. Develop the right self-esteem and self-confidence to look at yourself in the mirror and say "oh I'm proud to be a black man! Oh I'm proud to be a black woman. I'm original. I'm unique. I'm beautiful in my black skin. I'm handsome in my black skin" for black is beautiful!
