If there is a problem, you should find the courage to interrogate it. If you can ask questions, you can find the cause. If you can find the cause, you can find the clue to its solution.
MARK MANSON WHY WE ALL NEED PHILOSOPHY Mark Manson 1 day ago “To win true freedom, you must be a slave to philosophy.” —Epicurus T he great philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein was once sitting in a park having a philosophical discussion with a friend when his friend, quite animated, stood up and said loudly, “That is a tree! I know for a fact that that is a tree!” An awkward pause ensued as the two men realized that passersby had stopped and were now staring at them. Wittgenstein, thinking quickly, turned to the people and said, “Do not worry, this fellow is not insane… we are merely doing philosophy.” When most people think of philosophy, they likely imagine indecipherable books that stretch on for a thousand pages, saying and solving nothing. By Ogiri John Ogiri. Today, the Church universally celebrates Christ the King. It is interesting that this celebration ushers us into the new calendar year of the Church as we hopefully look forward to the season of advent. The implication of this feast is heavy on us. Even though, we tend to be carried away by the angelic processions that characterize the celebration as many of us hardly ever think beyond this ephemeral display of piety, yet, we should understand that the feast of Christ the King goes deeper than the fanfare we witness and celebrate. Can we live out our faith in Christ's Kingship in a way that people should see and want to have a reason to go to Jesus Christ as one who holds the message of eternal life? This is a moral burden we have all been called to bear by virtue of our bapt...

They don't even realize that getting married and having kids is not enough and that life's purposes extend beyond this end. If you have no ambition beyond getting married and having children, you soon discover that even in marriage, life is a boring adventure without ambitions. Having an ambition provides some kind of emotional lubricant needed to oil the wheel of marital bliss, for without an ambition, life in marriage tends to become vulnerable to frictions that eventually lead to wear and tear of the fractional parts that make up the marriage structure. As a young lady, when you were in the university, polytechnic or college, you had many dreams of learning a skill, starting a business and growing it, getting a job and rising through the ranks to the top, furthering your studies, participating in active po...
