Money, Power and Sex: A Trinity of Vice and Virtue that can Alter Men

By Ogiri John Ogiri

Every man is an honourable man until he meets money, power and sex. These three things, how he conducts his quest for them and how he behaves after acquiring them, can reveal his true nature and character. If money, power and sex were a burning furnace of fire and men were thrown into it, the man who comes out unscathed and unstained would be a saint in a community of sinners.
Poverty of money, power and sex can be humbling to a man but his possession of them can birth a pride capable of altering his once humble attitude even to the surprise of many of his most trusted friends and foes. Only a few men can conquer and control the intoxication of money, power and sex. These are the men who know the value of contentment both in moments of poverty and plenty.
There is therefore no need for anyone to feel surprised if his or her friend almost suddenly starts acting snobbishly after acquiring these prized possessions for, indeed, the man of honour and integrity, the man of saintly character is revealed in the presence of money, power and sex, not in their absence. The man of wisdom knows how to manage the lure of these three things ( both when he has them and when he does not have them) in a way that does not detract from his humanity in a world ruled by inhumanity of man to man.
